She married Charles Jenner Hatch on January 13, 1928, in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Irene was a lifelong and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various positions in all auxiliaries of the Church. She especially enjoyed her time serving with her husband in the Cub Scout organization and teaching Primary.
After her husband's death in 1966, she worked for the Watters Garden Center in Prescott, Arizona, for many years. They shared her knowledge and expertise in gardening with their customers. She moved to her daughter's home in Murray in 1993 and enjoyed attending the Salt Lake and Jordan River Temples several days a week until just a few years ago.
Irene is survived by five of her seven children: Duane (Rose Marie), of Clinton, Lorraine Smith (Larry), of Murray, David (Delcena), of Mesa, AZ, Darrell (Rinda), of Centerville, Von (late Barbara), of Montezuma Lake, AZ; 24 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren; two of her nine siblings: Francis (Darlene) Rogers, of Portland, OR, and Lucille Rogers Burnham, of Gilbert, AZ; and one sister-in-law, Leah Rogers, of Coolidge, AZ.

Funeral Services will be Monday, October 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church located at 5735 S. Fashion Blvd., Murray, Utah. A viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday evening at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St., and Monday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. A viewing will be held on October 8, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave, Prescott, AZ.
Graveside services will follow at Chino Valley Cemetery, Arizona.
