Roseland, La., March 22 -- M. Hendry died suddenly yesterday at his home in Arcola, aged 78 years. He was a Southern gentleman of the old school, and was well known throughout the parish, having resided for years in Amite City, afterward moving to Arcola. He was a great reader for one of his advanced age, and was well posted on the topics of the day, honest in his dealings with everybody, and highly respected. Mr. Hendry was the father of Warren D. Hendry of Arcola, the president of the Police Jury of Tangipahoa Parish, and leaves his wife, several children and grandchildren. The funeral took place this morning at 11 o'clock from the Arcola Church, Rev. William Howard Watson officiating. Interment was made in Arcola-Roseland Cemetery.
