Titled: Mrs. Bruns, 83, Dies In Hospital
Mrs. Eva M. Bruns, 83, formerly of 2057 Fenton St., Williamsdale, died Sunday morning in Mercy Hospital where she had been a patient several days. She had been in failing health a number of years. Mrs. Bruns was born in Lithuania Jan. 1, 1884, a daughter of Anthony and Anna Bernoskey, and received her education in the public schools of that area. In 1903 tihe family came to the United States and established a home in Hamilton. On May 23,1906, she was married to William Bruns in St. Stephen Church and he preceded her in death Sept. 25,1934. Mrs. Bruns was devoted to her home and family and was especially fond of her grandson and great-grandson. She loved being outdoors and spent many hours gardening. Active In Church - A member of St. Stephen Church since coming to Hamilton, she belonged to tile Altar Rosary Society of that parish. She was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. Mrs. Bruns maintained an active interest in church work as long as her health permitted. She leaves a daughter, Miss Genevieve Bruns; a grandson, William R. Bruns Sr.; a greatgrandson, William R. Bruns Jr., all of Hamilton; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mrs. Bruns was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, Joseph and Jacob Bernoskey; two sister, Mrs. Anna Streamas and a twin sister in infancy. Services will be held in the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. Third St., Wednesday at 9:30 a. m., followed by Requiem High Mass in St. S t e p h e n Church at 10 a.m Burial will be in the family lot in St. Stephen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday after 4 p. m. The Third order of the St. Francis and the Alter Rosary Society will hold services in the funeral home Tuesday at 7:30 p. m.
