Major League Baseball Player. Born in Veto, Alabama, he was a right handed pitcher making his debut with the Detroit Tigers on May 21, 1937. For four seasons, he played with the Detroit Tigers (1937-39) and the Saint Louis Browns in 1940. He ended his career with a record of 15 wins, 12 loss, 3 saves, 89 strikeouts, a 5.60 earned run average and a .986 fielding percentage. He died at age 92 in Birmingham, Alabama.
