Gary passed away on September 14, 2011 in Salt Lake City while on a business assignment.

Gary was born to Russell and Evelyn Capps on June 4, 1948 in Nampa, Idaho.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, one son, Matthew and one daughter, Bobbie and four grandchildren. A grandchild and both parents preceded him in death. He had one half-brother, Richard (Dick) True who resides in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gary resided most of his early years in Caldwell and later in Boise where he graduated from Capitol High School in 1967. He joined the Navy and served honorably for 10 years as an aviation hydraulics technician with a photo squadron on several aircraft carriers. He traveled the world and served 3 tours of duty in Viet Nam. After his discharge from the Navy he worked for Idaho Power Company in Boise where his dad had worked for 45 years. After 20 years at Idaho Power he went to work for HDW, a supplier of underground fault locating equipment used by power companies to trouble-shoot underground electrical problems. Gary was a master electrician with a great knowledge of issues regarding electrical power lines and methods of finding and resolving problems. He was in great demand from power companies through out the west to provide the equipment and expertise in solving their underground power problems. Gary designed and made many tools to assist in this endeavor. Gary was 100% an American and loved his country greatly. He had many friends and associates through out the country from his many years of traveling and serving his country. He was highly knowledgeable about fire arms and spent much of his spar time modifying and shooting them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial will be held in his honor on Sept. 29, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 N. Horshoe Bend Rd, Boise, ID 83714. Reception following at Church of Christ, 53 Yale St., Nampa, ID 83651
