(1.2.3.2.3.3.8.) Born in Methuen, Mass.,the son of George Austin Spurr(1.2.3.2.3.3)and his 2nd wife Theresa Evelyn (Harris)Spurr. Moved to North Carolina in the mid 1920's Served in the Army, married Amelia Elizabeth (Rich) Spurr. Daughter of Rev. Benjamin Harrison Rich and Gertrude Beatrice (Keath) Rich of Gainesville, Ga. A tinkerer, plumber, electician, mechanic, and all around handyman. He built and shared the first radio in western North Carolina out of an old oatmeal box, some wire, galena crystal, and spring or "cat's whisker". A good father,husband and neighbor. Eight children: Martha Hazel, George Albert,Jr., Elizabeth Amelia, Mary Evelyn, Georgia Louise, Benjamin Harrison, John Anthony, Baby Spurr-Male stillborn. He was loved by all of his children.
