Sgt. James Wilbur Propst, 25 of Mount Morris PA died, Wednesday, April 18, 1945. He was the son of Mrs. Clyde Mays-Propst and the late Harry Leroy "Roy" Propst who died in 1942. James was sworn into Federal service on Jan 6, 1941 with the 201st infantry at Morgantown WV. He served throughout the campaign in Alaska and upon return to the US transferred to the paratroopers. Killed in action by Japanese hand grenade on the Island of Negros, P.I. Buried in the US cemetery, Island of Leyte, P.I.-Purple heart Metal.

Sometime in the 1940's James was moved to the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Morgantown WV.
