"Win" received his Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College in 1906 and Bachelor of Laws from Harvard University in 1909, was a vice-president of the Old Colony Trust Company of Boston, and an attorney. He and his first wife Lucy had four children: Lucy Eliott Denio Bygrave (1914-2001), Jean Denio (1915-2009), Julia Winchester Denio Courtney (1917-2002), and John Prentice "Jock" Denio (1922-2017).
