MORTAL REMAINS of PIONEER LAID to REST
All that was mortal of Robert C. Kettlewell was laid to rest yesterday afternoon in the City Cemetery........
The Rev. H. A. Deck officiated paying a mark of high regard to the deceased pioneer.....
The deceased was a Confederate soldier and the tender bond of comradeship and brotherly consideration was manifested in no more nobler or touching tribute than witnessed in the final journey to the cemetery, when four honored and gray haired veterans, BEN GOODRICH and TILLMAN A. JONES who were enrolled in the army of the South(CSA),and A. L. GROW and J. F. DUNCAN, with the army of the North, as pallbearers, lowered their comrade in the grave, the two other pallbearers representing the citizens being C. L. Cummings and The Prospector representative.
With the benediction and singing of "MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE", by the Choir, the last rites were performed over the sad parting of an honored and respected pioneer, kind friend and devoted husband.
Peace to his soul.
