Lawrence "Pete" Adams, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather departed this life on February 12, 2013 surrounded by his close knit family.

Born June 30, 1932 in Okeene, Oklahoma to Peter Adams and Mary Weiser Adams. He graduated from Okeene High School and then attended Oklahoma A&M, now OSU. A member of the Theta Kappa Phi Fraternity. it was at OSU that he met and subsequently married the true love of his life on May 28, 1955. After graduation from Oklahoma A&M with a Bachelor in Science Degree; he joined the U.S. Army and obtained the rank of Captain. After an Honorable Discharge from the Army in 1956, he was employed in the oilfield by Magabar and then by Smith Tool Company, as an oilfield drill bit salesman, rising to the position of U.S. Eastern Area Manager, which also covered parts of Canada and Mexico. He retired from Smith after thirty eight years and continued to be active raising cattle at the family farm outside of Harrah, Oklahoma and his morning coffee meetings, where innumerable world problems were resolved in short periods of time.

Pete was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He was a long time member of Twin Hills Golf and Country Club. He served as the Midcontinent Oilmen's Director for the Annual Oilmen's Golf Tournament. A lifelong Catholic, he was a parishioner of Saint Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Harrah and a Third Degree Knight of Columbus.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Catherine Dunn Adams; son, Larry P. Adams, II and wife Teresa, grandsons Trey and Hunter Adams and granddaughter Jessica Orlicek, her husband Jason and two great-grandchildren; son, Charles "Andy" Adams, his wife Sandra and their sons, Richard and Cameron Chaffin and Drew and Hayden Adams and one great-grandson son; son, John Adams and his wife Staci, their daughters Aaron and Makayla Adams; and daughter, Cass Brassard and her husband Bill and their two children, Jason Brassard, his wife Jennifer and Jennie Sullivan and her husband, Shaun and four great-grandchildren.

His quick wit and dry sense of humor were stolen to soon, but his gentle kindness remained even to his death.

Rosary and wake will be 3:00 PM, Friday, February 15, 2013, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 16, 2013, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK, with Father Lucas Raj Pinapati officiating. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Catholic Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
