Mary was born on October 22, 1925 in Oakland, Maryland to David and Hazel Claire Thayer Funk. She married Donald Richard Milholin on July 3, 1949 in Muscatine, Iowa. Donald passed away in 2005.
Mary was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church Women, and she also sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Bertha Rex Circle, S.E.Iowa Board of Realtors, Fairfield MLS and the Fairfield Women's Club Chouus. Mary was a real estate broker for over 25 years.
Mary is survived by 3 children: Pamla Robinson of Danville, Iowa, Judi Hipp of Yuma, Arizona, and Donald Milholin II of Greensboro, North Carolina, 7 grandsons, 2 granddaughters and 1 brother: Brooks David Funk of Davenport, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Per her wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Hospitals. She will be cremated and a service will be held at the Word of Life Lutheran Church on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 10:30 am with Pastor Jamie Strickler officiating. A memorial has been established.
