He received many honors throughout his career: Montaigne Prize in 1971, the Award of Honor of Catalan Letters in 1972, the Ignasi Iglesias Prize in 1980, and in 1982 the City of Barcelona Prize and the Gold Medal of the Generalitat de Catalunya. He is best remembered for his books "Laia," "Ariadna al Laberint Grotesc," "El Caminant i el Mur," "Ronda de mort a Sinera," and "La Pell de Brau." He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1970 and 1971.
