- Mrs. Cline, age 94, of Charlotte died September 2, 2011 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Reverend Billy Towery officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
- Mrs. Cline was born August 28, 1917 in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late Thomas Francis and Lillie Gertrude Elliott Rodgers. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Joy Sunday School Class, Pleasant Years Club and Historian, 20 years, Golden Years Quilting Group and President, 20 years, was a graduate of Western Carolina Teachers College with a B. S. Degree and taught thirty-three and one half years, the last 23 as a First Grade Teacher at Oakdale Elementary School.
- Surviving are a daughter, Sherry Hutchinson of Baton Rouge, LA.; sons, Glenn Francis Cline and wife, Elizabeth of Madison, Ala., and Wayne Allen Cline and wife, Penney of Landrum, SC.; grandchildren, Hunter, Michael, Maribeth, Renee, and Daniel, and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cline was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn C. Cline.
