Cecil Barker died Sunday in an Oklahoma City Hospital. The Tecumseh resident was 73. He was born in Oklahoma City on April 15, 1928, the son of Cecil Henry Barker, Sr and Ollie Marie (Brisco) Barker. He attended school in Oklahoma City..
On December 19, 1959, he and Faye Morgan married in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Barker worked as a salesman for various companies. He served in the US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, and the US Marines. During his Army tour, he served in the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star..
He was a member of the Pink Baptist Church, and the 13 gallon Blood Donors Group. He served as Master of the Uriah Lodge in 1994 and was a dual member of the Tecumseh Lodge. He lived in Tecumseh since 1976.
Preceeding him in death were his parents, one brother and one sister, Dorothy Barker. Survivors include his wife of the home, Children; Ellen Eustice and Pat Arnett both of Wichita, Kansas; Janette Woods of Carey, NC; Tom Donovan of Glendale, Arizona; and Glen and Gene Barker, both of Tecumseh; 14 granchildren; three great grandchildren and a number of other relatives..
Services will be 2 pm Thursday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Warren Barker officiating, burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park..
