DECATUR - Roy "Sonny" Gene Hanks, 70 of Decatur died 6:25 p.m. Wednesday August 31, 2011 in his residence. Memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday Sept. 8, 2011 at Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Gerald Thompson officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church 2650 S. Taylorville Road Decatur, IL. 62521. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting the family with these arrangements. Roy was born July 23, 1941 in Clinton, IL., son of Roy and Ruth Hanks. He graduated High School and retired from Mueller Company as an Inspector. He is survived by his sons, Leroy (Michele), Kevin and Michael, four grandchildren, and close personal friend, Carlene Bradshaw. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers.
