Florence

Lynwood Nathaniel Sports, 53, of North Charleston, died Sunday at his home.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Piney Forest Baptist Church near Andrews. Burial will be in the church cemetery, directed by Waters Funeral Home.

Mr. Sports was born in Williamsburg County, but spent most of his life in Florence. He had been a resident of Charleston for the past two months where he was employed as a painter.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Alice Joyce Fraser of Darlington; three sons, Lynwood N. Sports Jr. and A. Gene Sports, both of Florence, and Phillip Marshall Sports of the U.S. Army in Vietnam; four sisters, Mrs. Alec Hannah of Charleston, Mrs. Warren Turbeville of Turbeville; Mrs. Dick Gordon of Cape Kennedy, Fla., and Mrs. Kemper Sims of Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, Russell Bryan of Andrews and Reed Bryan of Charleston; and 10 grandchildren.
