Obit: The Weatherford Democrat, Friday, February 1, 2013.."Stephenville - Alfred Edd "Pampaw" Anthony, 90, of Stephenville, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 in Stephenville.

Al was born Dec 22, 1922, in Weatherford to the late Alfred Edmund Anthony and Cora Mae Scott. Al grew up there as a child as well in Mineral Wells. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a flight mechanic then on to work in the general aviation industry. While working in the airline business he was awarded the position of vice president at Trans Texas Airways. During this part of his aviation career he lived in Fort Stockton, Dallas, San Angelo and Houston.
Fort Stockton is where he met his wife, Shirley Stephenson. They were married Nov. 25, 1950. His career then transitioned to the Federal Aviation Administration, leaving he and Shirley to live in Washington, Hawaii, California, Oklahoma and Texas before retiring in 1987. He then found residence in Stephenville while continuing to ranch in the Hico and Carlton areas and enjoyed ranching, golfing and watching football. Al was a Mason/Shriner, a longtime member of American Chianina Association and member of Hico First United Methodist Church.
Al was a man of honor, integrity, and was a kind hearted man. He was always there for his family and friends. Al believed in hard work and enjoyed having jun. Dad and Pampaw, we will miss you. Thank you for always being there for us. Rest in peace.
Al is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Anthony; four sons; one son and daughter by a previous marriage; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother and one aunt.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy; and a brother, Johnny Lee".
