BYRON C. BRANTLEY, 82, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Stuckey, Ga., he was a Civil Engineer with I&M for 35 years and retired in 1987. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a loving husband, father and devoted grandfather. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Sara; son, Gary Brantley of Venice, Fla.; daughter, Beverly Reis of Oregon City, Ore.; daughter-in-law, Brenda Lewis of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Robynn Wearley of Fort Wayne and Adam Reis of Oregon City, Ore.; one great-grandchild, Cody Wearley of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Alice Coleman of Starke, Fla., and Virginia Purdee of Deland, Fla.. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Calling is from 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
