Betty J. (Reach) Klus-Miller
Betty J. Klus-Miller, 68, of S. Elgin passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at Sherman Hospital.
Born April 17, 1935 in Alabaster, AL to Martes and Onzel Reach. Betty worked at the Elgin Metal Casket Company. Upon her retirement from the casket company, she co-owned the Geneva Shoe Repair Shop with her husband, Robert, from 1982 to 1994. Until recently, Betty was employed part-time at Vescor Corporation in South Elgin. She was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church in Elgin.
Betty is survived by her husband, Robert F. Miller, her six children, Bill (Renee) Klus, Kingston, IL, Judy (Brad) Splinter, Sycamore, IL, Ray (Karen) Klus, Kingston, IL, Terry (Peggy) Klus, Sycamore, IL, Merry "Tout" Klus, DeKalb, IL and James (Kathy) Klus, Kingston, IL. She is also survived by her three step-children, Jim (Beth) Miller, Elgin, IL, Gary (Laurie) Miller, South Elgin, IL and Gloria (Tom) Norton, Joliet, IL. Betty was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence H. Klus and her parents. Visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2003 at the O'Connor-Leetz Funeral Home, Elgin from 3-8 p.m. with Prayer Service at 7 p.m.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m. at St. Laurence Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Kulak officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Betty's memory to the charity of one's choice.
