Joe K. McNay, 66, of Lewisville, Texas passed away February 2, 2011, in Denton, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer.The eldest of six children, he was born on November 9, 1944, in Alexandria, Louisiana to Colonel Joe Kenneth and Stella B. (Spero) McNay.

On June 30, 1966, he married Diane Bowen, daughter of Lt. Col. Max and Madeline Bowen, at Richards-Gebaur AFB in Kansas City, Missouri. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves for more than eight years. He earned a bachelors degree in electrical engineering at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri.

He was a previous member of the Dallas and Lewisville Rotary Clubs.

Joe is survived by his wife, Diane McNay of Lewisville; son, Jon Mitchell McNay of Lewisville, Texas; daughters, Joelle Kay Byrnes and husband, David of Allen, Texas, Jennifer Jiffie Diane McNay of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jessica Leigh Warren, also of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Hunter Brooks, Tanner Brooks, Kylie Warren, Kaitlyn Warren and Gavin Mitchell McNay; brother, Richard McNay and wife, Mary Ann, of Englewood, Colorado; sisters, Kathy McNay of Belton, Missouri, Stephanie Seals of South Lake Tahoe, California, Mary Jean Waggoner and husband, Gary, of Salem, Illinois, and Patricia Patti Miller of Missouri City, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

His parents, Col. Joe McNay and Stella McNay, preceded him in death.

A memorial service to celebrate Joes life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2011, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. An inurnment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
