Ray Montemayor beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend returned to Christ on Aug. 23, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Born Aug. 22, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas; attended Burbank High School; joined the Air Force in 1953. Upon discharge, he worked civil service; retired from Kelly AFB in 1988. After retirement, he served his family and community by providing his knowledge and expertise in many ways, including refrigeration, A/C, auto, electrical, and appliance repair.

Ray is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Anna Young Montemayor; children Steven Yolanda Montemayor, Sr., Karen Montemayor Calvin DuBose, Kenny Tina Montemayor, Allison Montemayor Rick Moreno, Mike Montemayor Karen; grandchildren Steven, Joseph, Christopher, and Brittany Montemayor, Grayson and Isabella DuBose, Troy Montemayor, Ricky, Stephanie, Ray, and Gabby Moreno, and Makayla Montemayor; great- grandchildren Scarlett, Anabelle, and Ava Montemayor, and Gabriel Moreno; sisters Marie Johnson and Rosie Gutierrez, and brother Eddie Montemayor as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Ray leaves behind many people who he loved and called friend, always to be remembered as a person who cared, loved, and helped selflessly and unconditionally.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors and staff at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Downtown and the Odyssey Hospice Crisis Care Team for the loving care they provided Ray on his last few months and days on earth.

Visitation for Ray will be at Brookehill Funeral Home 711 SE Military Dr. San Antonio, TX., Friday August 26, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass is 10:30 A.M. Saturday August 27, 2011 at St. Joseph's South San Catholic Church 535 New Laredo Hwy. San Antonio, TX 78211. The interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.
