Funeral services for Lilly May Koch, 92, were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Charles Cox, retired, officiating. She died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003 in the Gracy Wood II Nursing Home in Austin.
Mrs. Koch, formerly of Rockdale, had lived in Austin the past four and one-half years. She was born Feb. 5, 1911 in the Gay Hill Community near Rockdale to Armin A. and Louise Fannie (Hirt) Doss. She and Fritz Wilhelm Koch were married March 10, 1928 in Rockdale. She was a seamstress and member of First Christian Church in Rockdale.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Fritz W. Koch Oct. 1, 1998; brothers, Harry and Cleveland Pete Doss; sister, Edna Niemstchk; parents; son-in-law, Sam Rains; brother-in-law, George Partee.
Surviving are: Daughters, Dorothy Koch Cryer and husband James of Hico and Peggy Koch Rains of Austin; brothers, Jim Doss of Brunswick, Georgia and Robert Doss of Lake Jackson; sisters, Bonnie Brannon of Rockdale and Nellie Partee of New Braunfels; sister-in-law, Irma Doss of Rockdale; grandchildren, Catherine Ramsey of Hico, Rusty Cryer of Hico, Denise Childress of Oak Hill and Matthew Rains of Sugarland; 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
