HARMONY--The funeral for Signe Alfson will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenfield Lutheran Church in Harmony, with the Revs. Jon and Ann Sorum co-officiating. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Alfson, 98, of Harmony, a retired restaurant cook, died Sunday (March 31, 1996) at Harmony Community Nursing Home.

Signe Elton was born July 25, 1897, in Fillmore County. On November 23, 1921, she married Clarence Alfson of Harmony and they farmed in the area. They later moved into Harmony and Mrs. Alfson was a cook at several restaurants for many years. Her husband died in 1973.

Survivors include a son, Morris Sr. of Harmony; two daughters, Joyce Bremseth of Preston and Ruth Ihns of Harmony; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Anderson of International Falls, Minn. She was preceded in death by two sons, 11 brothers, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
