"Death has again visited our villate and taken from our midst Mrs. Albert Cross, another old-time resident of Plover, who passed away on Sunday, Dec 6 at 1 o'clock, after an illness of several months from a complication of diseases. Lucy Pennied was born in Auburn, New York, sixty three years ago last October. She came to Wisconsin when she was 13 years of age to make her home with relatives. In 1868 she was married to Horatio Harroun, who passed away several years ago. To them were born seven children, five of whom are left to mourn her demise, with her husband, Albert Cross, to whom she was married eight years ago. All of her children were present at the funeral except Mrs. Mary Topping of Spooner, Minn. The other children are Mrs. Henry Demmerly of Syracuse, who, with her husband and daughter, Mrs. Etta McCoy, have been here for the past week, Seth Harroun of Plover, Horatio Harroun of Buena Vista and Will Harroun of Biron, Wis., who, with their families, were here. Funeral services were conducted at the home and the Methodist church by Rev. John Kendall at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with interment in Plover cemetery. Her three sons, Seth, Will, and Horatio, and Henry Demmerly, her son-in-law, acted as pallbearers."
She was the daughter of David Penird and Elizabeth White.
