MRS. LORA ELLEN MAGONEGIL
1888 — 1918.
Mrs. Lora Ellen Magonegil died at her home in Timber Lake, South Dakota, Monday, May 3, 1948, at the age of 59 yers, 6 months and 13 days. She was born near Lone Tree, Cass County, Mo., October 20, 1888. Her parents were WilLiam E. and Lydia Brown.
She was twice married. Her first husband was Grant Cecil MillIer of Kansas City, Kans. The date of the wedding was September 8, 1913, and to this union one child was born, Mrs. Virginia Fern Lund, who lives at the present time in Denver, Colo. Her second husband was James Magonegil of Eldorado, Kans. Their wedding day was September 10, 1920. Mr. Magonegil died in 1940.
In her going she leaves behind besides her daughter, Mrs. Lund, her aged father William Brown of Archie: and a foster son Eugene Lueder of Timber Lake, S. Dak. Three sisters and two brothers are living: Mrs. Edgar Mallicoat of Independence, Mrs. Ross Cornell of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Miles Mettler of Eliza-bethtown, Tenn: David Brown of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and Glen Brown of Archie. Two brothers, Lawrence Allen Brown and Roy Brown preceded her in death. Two grandchildren, Larry Lee and Corless Dee Lund, survive, as do a host of other relatives and numerous friends.
At an early age, Mrs. Magonegil became a Christian, and united with the Everett Baptist Church. Upon locating in Timber Lake, S. Dak., she placed her membership in the First Baptist Church of that city, and remained in its happy fellowship until the time of her death. She will be remembered as sincere, energetic, delightful Christian woman of the home, the church, and the community.
The funeral was held at the First Baptist Church of Timber Lake, Thursday, May 6, at 10 a. m.
The body was shipped to Archie, where services were held Saturday afternoon, May 8, at 2 o'clock, being conducted by the Rev. George C. Monroe, a Baptist minister of Harrisonville.
A mixed quartet, composed of Clara Maude Bishop, Mayme McCoy, Ray Warner and B. W. Cauthon, with Mrs. Erwin McCoy at the piano, sang "In the Garden" and "Face to Face." Casketbearers were Frank Barnard, Ray Poland, E. R. Barrett, E. L. MeCoy, Emor Davis and J. K. Mc-Donnell.
Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
