Samuel and Anna (Wickersham) Keister were parents of 14 children, including three sets of twins. Twins Elcinda Kiester and Morris Keister were born Jan. 14, 1951, on the family farm near Yocumtown, York County, Pennsylvania.

William L. Alexander and Elcinda Keister were married on June 12, 1873, in Randolph County, Indiana, by W. R. Keistler [sic] Clergyman." [There was a Rev. W. R. Kistler listed in records of the North Indiana Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church during this time period.]
