The Miller News-Herald, Thursday, Sept. 9, 1920: THOMAS WEST 'Died Sept. 3, 1920. He was 81 years, 6 months and 23 days of age. At the time of his death he was near Phelps, Mo. Funeral services were conducted at Pennsboro by Rev. Tom Proctor, after which the body was laid to' (word missing) 'in the cemetery at that place. A good man and kind father has gone to try the realitic of that world on high. We will miss him, and we give his loved ones our sympathy.'
