He was the son of Theodore and Emeline (Stevens) Angevine; grandson of Samuel and Martha Ann (Nichols) Angevine; and great-grandson of John Angevine (1756 – 1828) and Sarah Amelia (Carter) (1762 – 1851); grandson of Peter Angevine (1734 – 1778).

Another family tree online shows him as the son of John S. Angevine (born 1831) and Margaret Bigelow Angevine; grandson of William E. Angevine (1792-1870) and Mary Ross (1802 – 1894), William E. being another son of John Angevine and Sarah Amelia Carter.

His parents moved from Nova Scotia to Brooklyn 1868-69.
