On April 26, 1956, he was united in marriage to Dixie Kylene Langford. From this union, two children were born; Donna and Robert.
In his younger years, he worked at a B-52 Bomber Plant in Kansas City, MO. He was also employed at C&W Engine Rebuilders, where he built motors for Duck Boats at Branson, as well as truck and car engines. He retired in 1983, but he continued to work on cars at home for family and friends. He also had many hobbies, he loved to hunt and fish, he also fixed old guitars. He taught himself how to play the guitar, much to the delight of his great-grand-daughter.
He is survived by his wife Dixie Kylene Aleshire, a daughter, Donna Kylene Walter, a son; Robert Allen Aleshire, and his wife Denise Ann, all of Springfield, a grand-daughter; Lisa S. Walter, and one great-grand-daughter; Stormy Kimberly Walter, a brother, John Lincoln Aleshire, Pleasant Hope, MO.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm., Saturday, August 13th, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO. Officiating was Ms. Shirley Gilmore. Music by John Hall and Barbara McKay. Pallbearers were John Nelson Aleshire, Doug Bennett, Shawn Langford Selsor, Craig Feezell, Darrell Wilson, and Roger Wilson.
