MRS. JOHN S. DUNLAP
Mrs. Jennie Dunlap, 90, RFD 5, (Hillcrest Park), a Porter county resident for 56 years, died this morning in Porter Memorial hospital following a three-week illness.
She was born March 24, 1866, in Coesse (Whitley county), Ind., and was married in Kansas Dec. 25, 1884, to John S. Dunlap, who died in 1938.
A daughter, Bertie, and a son, Harry, also preceded her in death.
She was the daughter of Samuel and Rachel (Edgar) DePoy and as a two-month-old baby made a covered wagon trip to Kansas with her parents.
For 38 years she resided on West Lincolnway and for the past nine years she lived with a granddaughter, Mrs. Arthur Price, and her husband, at Hillcrest.
Surviving are nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday in LePell Funeral home. The Rev. Arnold Westphal, First Baptist church, will officiate, and burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Friends may call at LePell Funeral home from 7 to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, and Sunday until time of services.
