Daughter of George Hubert Bowers and Nellie Dix Bowers, Patricia graduated from Granby High School and Hollins College in Roanoke and taught in Norfolk public schools, the George School of Newtown, PA, and at Dana Hall in Wellesley, MA.

Mrs. White served as First Lady of Randolph-Macon College and later Kentucky Wesleyan College for 21 years when her husband served as the colleges' President.

She volunteered in the PTAs of her children's schools, the Junior League of Norfolk, Symphony Auxiliary in Norfolk and Owensboro. She founded the LM Beautification Corps in Lake Monticello, VA and served many years on the Board and committees.

Mrs. White was active in the United Methodist Church and served everywhere she lived as the president of the United Methodist Women as well as being a member and officer of the Fluvanna Christian Service Society.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, four children and their families, and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, George H. Bowers Jr. and Richard Dix Bowers.
