ATLANTA - Marie Poehlrnan, 89, of Atlanta, died at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Monday, Dec. 15, 1997.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Nelson-Harris Funeral
Home, Wednesday, Dec. 17, 1997 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mark Crist officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Beaver City.
She was born April 29, 1908 south of Beaver City, the youngest of six children of Fred Bowker.
She married Martin Ford of Beaver City in 1929 and they lived on a farm for several years. She later moved to the Atlanta area. Mr. Ford died in 1949. She married Nathan Poehlrnan of Atlanta in the early 1950s. Mrs. Poehlman purchased the grocery store in Atlanta and she operated Marie's Store until the early 1930s. She lived most of her life in Atlanta.
Survivors include her son, Martin Ford and his wife, Billie, of Oxford; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Martin Ford, her husband, Nathan Poehlrnan in 1981, a daughter, Evelyn Dodson and five brothers.
Mrs. Poehlman will lie in state at the Nelson-Harris Funeral Home, Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until noon.
