Harriet is the daughter of Enos Felch and Belinda Avery,she married Asa S. Magoon on 13 Apr 1843 and together they have nine children.

On 28 Nov 1879 Asa was hung for the murder of Rufus Streeter in Barre Village,Vt. "He was innocent of all charges. An article published in 2012 in the Rutland Herald said that a lady of "ill repute" confessed 9 years after Asa was hung."
