Mrs. E. Irene Bailey, 86, Frankfort, died at 7:20 p.m. July 29, 2011 at
the Clinton House.

Mrs. Bailey was born Oct. 6, 1924 in Marshall County, Iowa to the late Carroll J. and Avis K. (Kilmer) Billman. She married W. Ralph Bailey on June 3, 1942 and he survives.

Before moving to Frankfort Irene worked was a secretary for The Grinnell Shoe Factory. She then assisted Ralph in running Bailey's Shoe Dept located in the Thrasher's Building. Irene also worked as a seamstress working last at Classic Collections in Frankfort.

She moved to Frankfort in 1960 from Grinnell, Iowa. She was a member of
the Trinity United Methodist Church. Irene was a former member of the
Rebecca's and the Junior Mother's Club. She graduated in 1942 from State
Center High School in Iowa

Surviving with her Husband of Frankfort are sons Bruce and wife Beth Jean
Bailey of Daleville, Hal and wife Barbara Bailey of Elwood; and daughter
Judy A. Pitman of Frankfort; one sister Sarah Grapper of Kansas; two
Brothers Elmer Billman of Minnesota and Marvin Billman of Iowa; seven
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, James A. Pitman;
grandson Ashton Todd Hall; and sister Wilma Kinzibach.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011 at Genda Funeral
Home. Pastor Ed Pearson will officiate the services. Burial will occur in
Bunnell Cemtery. Calling will occur from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011
at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
