Donald Harold Van Ruth, age 80, died May 26, 2000 in Bremerton, Washington.

He was born May 11, 1920 in Nekooska, Wisconsin to John Harold and Anna Agnes (Milkey) Van Ruth.

On 15 October 1940, at Wisconsin Rapides, Wisconsin, Donald was inducted into the United States Army, for service during World War II. While Serving in the United States Army, Donald received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star. On 7 August 1945, Donald was honorably discharged, as a Staff Sargent.

He was a tavern owner for 35 years before retiring.

Donald enjoyed gardening.

He married Dorothy Mae (Collins) Palmer, on 19 November 1974 in Port Orchard, Washington. They remained together until Dorothy's death, in 1997. .

He is survived by his sons Jim, John, and Joe., daughters Judi., and Lisa, brother Art, sister Florence, and Bertha., and 9 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 1997, daughter Jackie, brothers and sisters Chester, Lernard., Wilfred., Loretta, and Margaret.
