Mrs. Elvia Bailey Obituary
Mrs. Elvia Bailey , 77 of Alpena, died at her home November 13.
She was born in Missouri on January 21, 1890, the daughter of Warren and Elizabeth Hendrix Dillingham, but had resided most of her life in Boone County.
She was married to Fred Bailey at Alpena on July 4, 1908. He passed away in February 1930. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elsie Jones, in 1964.
She is survived by three daughters, Delsie Massengale of Clarksville, Arkansas, Luella Massengale and Essie Snow of Alpena; one foster son, Bill Davis who they raised sence he was eight years old who lives in King City, California; three brothers, William Dillingham of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Rosewell Dillingham of Keyonta, Arizona, and Aaron Dillingham of King City, California; four sisters, Della Bailey, Alice Bailey, and Lula Bailey all of Alpena and Eula Fields of Salinas, California; 27 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral services were conducted at 2p.m. Thursday, November 16, at the Alpena Baptist Church by Rev. Orville Conard and Rev. Graham Roberts with burial in the Alpena Cemetery under direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
Pallbearers were F.M. Massengale, Sonny Snow, Carroll Massengale, Franklin Jones, Garrie Massengale, Danny Massengale and Larry Massengale, all grandsons.
