DAVENPORT — Memorial services for Carl E. Carstens, 48, of Davenport, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Christian Center Church, 2103 W. 3rd St., Davenport. Inurnment will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Carstens passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011, at his residence. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service assisted the family with arrangements.
Carl Edward Carstens was born in Davenport on February 22, 1963, the son of Edward and Mary (Thibodeaux) Carstens. He was a member of the graduating class of 1981 at West High School. On May 17, 1998, he married Milinda Nielsen in Blue Grass, Iowa. They later divorced. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed reading in his spare time. Carl will be remembered for his clever wit and his wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Carstens of Davenport; a brother, Kim (Gina) Carstens of LeClaire, Iowa; a sister, Mary Sue Frazier-Fuller of Moline, Ill.; a special friend, Traci Schultz Piper of Mendota, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 2004.
