Eldest daughter of John Henry Singleton and Lena Jackson Singleton. Katherine was united in Holy Matrimony to Thomas A. Dawson who preceded her in death. To this union was born two children, one of whom died at infancy. Katherine was employed as a secretary for the Atlanta Housing Authority and was a member of Atlanta's Warren Memorial U.M.C. and Butler Street C.M.E. Church where she rejoined after her husbands death. Katherine Dawson departed this life after a long battle with cancer in Atlanta on Mother's Day, May 13, 1968. Her death hit her family hard, especially her mother.
