Major League Baseball Player. Born John Peter Bolinsky in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, he was a shortstop making his debut for the Philadelphia Athletes on April 12, 1927. For six seasons, he played with the Philadelphia Athletes (1927-31) and Cleveland Indians in 1932. He helped the A's to three pennants and two World Championships in 1929 and 1931, ending his career with a record of 478 hits, 203 runs scored, 7 homeruns, 227 runs batted in, a .269 batting average and a .957 fielding percentage. He died in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, at age 66.
