H.W. BEAZLEY
Herbert W. Beazley died yesterday morning at 5:45 o'clock at his residence 1816 Kane street, in the sixty-fourth year of his life.
The funeral will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the residence with interment in Glenwood cemetery. Rev. F. L. King of Washington Street Methodist church will officiate.
The following will serve as pallbearers. Messrs. T. H. Fletcher, J. F. Staley, O. F. Amerman and C. A. Younger of the Dick Dowling camp and W. A. Buchanan and John Monroe.
Born in Canton, Miss; in 1843, where he was reared, Mr. Beazley came to Houston after serving in the Twelfth Vicksburg sharpshooters during the War Between the States and has been a resident of this city since 1870. He has been with the Houston and Texas Central railroad in the mechanical department for thirty-seven years. Mr. Beazley was a member of the Dick Dowling camp, United Confederate Veterans, having served in the battles of Atlanta, Chickamauga, Corinth and others. The members of the Houston camp will attend the funeral in a body. Interment to be made in Glenwood.
His widow, Mrs. Ellen E. Beazley, formerly Miss Ellen Stanley, daughter of Captain J. C. Stanley, who will be remembered by old-time Houstonians as a prominent businessman in the early days in Houston, survives him as well as three sons, Charles S. Beazley, H. Lee Beazley, William Paxton Beazley, and one daughter, Mrs. C. B. Nailer.
