JASPER, MO —

Dorothy Jean Probert, age 88, of Jasper, Mo., passed away Monday, July 18, 2011, at her home.

Dorothy was born on Oct. 16, 1922, in Barton County, Mo., to Lee Irvin and Beatrice (Mitchell) Spoon.

Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church, east of Jasper.

Dorothy was united in marriage to John William Probert on April 3, 1948, at Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1990.

Survivors include three daughters, Ann (Dennis) Sutton, of Carthage, Mo., Barbara (Lee) Stassen, of Daphne, Alabama and Jane (Tim) Isenmann; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Nadine Winder and Verna Lee Gober.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper. Burial will be in Hackney Cemetery, southeast of Jasper. The casket will be closed at all times.

Memorial contributions can be made to Avalon Hospice in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper.
