John Henry McCammon was born Oct. 3, 1848 in St. Joseph's county, Indiana, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Blanche Bonorden of Indianola, Saturday morning, November 12, 1932, following a two week's illness. Mr. McCammon came to Iowa when a small child with his parents, locating south of Oxford. He was married to Florence Yenter Feb. 17, 1876 and to this union was born two sons and five daughters. His wife, one daughter, Grace, and one son, Ervin, preceded him in death. He is survived by one son, Roy D. McCammon of St. Paul Minnesota, four daughters, Mrs. Blanche Bonorden, Indianola, Iowa, Mrs. Margaret Gunther, Streator, Ill., Mrs. Flora Law of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Ruth Mechler of Grove City, Penn. Mr. McCammon was a member of the Presbyterian church and had been a member of the Masonic lodge for fifty years. Funeral services were held at the Prebyterian church with Rev. P. B. Gray in charge. Masonic services were held at the grave. Pallbearers were George Clearman, Norwood Yenter, Ned Yenter, T.G. Specht, Fred Elliott and Virgil Harker.
