He was born on April 16, 1954, in Peoria, Ill., to Eugene and Velma Kupferschmid Kellenberger and married Linda Fussner on Sept. 20, 1973, in Peoria, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Jason (Melissa) Kellenberger of Texas, Heather Kellenberger of Peoria, Ill., and Brent Kellenberger of East Peoria, Ill.; three brothers, Randy (Ruth) Kellenberger of Washington, Ill., Ronald (Carole) Kellenberger of Metamora, Ill., and Steven Kellenberger of Peoria, Ill.; one sister, Marcia Shirley of Texas; one granddaughter, Deidra; two stepgrandchildren, Kyle and Krista; and best friend and friend of the family, Steve McGarvey.
His parents preceded him in death.
Dean was a member of the Carpenters Local 183 and a graduate of Peoria High School in 1973, where he played football. He also had worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for many years and enjoyed cooking, and his favorite pastime of fishing.
He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Washington.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
