The body of Anna Baloun was buried at the National cemetery Saturday afternoon. She died at Tobias at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 17 days, having been born in Lhote u Melnika, Bohemia, July 26, 1849. For a number of years she had made her home at Tobias with her husband, who preceded her in death ten years ago. One of her sons was living with her at the time of her death. She was united in marriage to John Baloun in 1871 and was the mother of eight children. Seven of these survive her, being her sons Vaclav, Josef, Frank, Emil and Edward and her daughters Marie Jirkovsky and Paulina Koci. She was a member of the J. C. D. at Crete and a number of the members of the order attended her funeral, the services being in charge of the order. She was a splendid type of the pioneer woman and highly respected by her neighbors who had opportunity to know of her good qualities.
