BETTENDORF - Margaret Ann Beale-Gray, 93, a resident of Bettendorf, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at her home.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2009, at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Bettendorf, where she was a longtime member.
She was born October 18, 1915, in Davenport, the daughter of Herbert and Henrietta (Stevens) Fort. On June 2, 1937, she was united in marriage to Raymond J. Beale in Davenport. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1986. On May 25, 1991, she was united in marriage to Ervin K. Gray in Bettendorf. He preceded her in death Jan. 1, 1992.
Margaret was a devoted homemaker and mother. She took great pride in caring for her home, loved teddy bears and enjoyed being a good neighbor. Above all, her beloved family was the joy of her life and she will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Howard (Joyce) Beale, of Davenport, James (Judith) Beale, of Bettendorf, William Beale, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Bob (Judy) Beale, of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Ray, Dennis, Sheri, Sarah, Michelle, Jennifer, Julie, Brandon, Kimberly, Mark and Randy; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert Fort, of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin, and seven sisters and brothers.
