Marjorie Eileen Balis Baldwin, 85, of Ely, Nev., died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mrs. Baldwin was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Filer to Frank and Edith Balis. She grew up on a farm in Eden, Idaho. She attended Russell Lane School and Eden High School where she graduated in 1938 and was valedictorian of her class.
After high school she attended business school in Twin Falls. Mrs. Baldwin moved from Idaho to Ely in 1963 with her husband, Jack, whom she married on July 29, 1951.
Mrs. Baldwin was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and a brother, Kenneth (Leila) Balis.
She is survived by her son, Philip Dee Baldwin of Salt Lake City, his wife Marsha, and daughter, Sara; her daughter, Valerie Baldwin Hume of Ely, her husband, Bob, and children, Kresta Barney, Elliot and Haylie Hume; and two brothers, Marvin (Lucille) Balis and Fred (Shirley) Balis both of Idaho and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, at Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls, Idaho.
In Mrs. Baldwin?s memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, Northern Nevada Chapter, P.O. Box 6362, Reno, NV 89513.
