Linda was born in Marion, Indiana to the late Forest and Elizabeth (Waltz) Pierson. Her first husband, Richard Jack Doyle of Van Buren, preceded her in death in June 1969. She later married James "Jim" M. Clouser in 1970. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2009.
She was a physical education and health teacher, retiring from the Eastbrook Community School Corporation. She was a graduate of Ball State University where she earned a Master's Degree in Education. She continued to substitute for Eastbrook Community School Corporation during her retirement.
