Arthur Donald Huntington, a longtime resident of Longview, passed away May 15, 2009, at the Hospice Care Center at the age of 83.

He was born in Omaha, Neb., March 7, 1926, to Donald Arthur and Velva Esther (Barker) Huntington. He moved to Longview in the 1940's.

Arthur served in the Marine Corp from 1947 to 1951. He was an electrician and a longtime member of Union 970 IBEW. He was a member of the Kelso Masonic Lodge, Kelso Scottish Rite, Afifi Shrine Temple, Kelso Eagles, Kelso American Legion, Kelso VFW and Military Order of the Cooties. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by a son, Dan Huntington of Longview; a daughter, Linda Floyd of Mechanicsville, Va.; two brothers, Walt Huntington of Tillamook, Ore., and Bob Huntington of Forest Grove, Ore.; a sister, Virginia "Ginny" Mohr of Redmond, Ore.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary L. Huntington; a granddaughter, Teresa R. Huntington; and a sister, Loretta Winger.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory. Viewing will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
