Dale E. Hansen, 76, died November 19, 2011 at a local hospital after a long battle with cancer. The funeral service will be at 10 AM on Friday at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. Highway 85/87. Burial will be at 2 pm Friday at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.

Mr. Hansen was born February 4, 1935, in Plainview, Nebraska to John Herman and Lois E. (Lambert) Hansen who are deceased. He is also preceded in death by a son Donald and brother Keith. He was married March 18, 1973, in Vicenza, Italy, to his loving wife Anna (Kucukoglu), who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Lyle and wife Patty, Jim and wife Marie, and daughter Stephanie and husband Jarrett; two brothers, Marvin and Donald, and sister-in-law Dora and family.

Mr. Hansen retired from the Army in 1984 after 31 years of service, attaining the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal with 4th Award, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster.

Mr. Hansen recently retired from woodworking – a passion he truly enjoyed. His hobbies included reading and gardening. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, PO Box 3011, Pueblo, CO 81005 or the charity of one's choice.
