Uhl "Tut" Adams passed away Saturday July 2, 2011 at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on November 11, 1930 in the Hughes area to Mamie John and J.B. Adams. After high school he was employed as a mechanic for Miller Motors and the Buick dealerships in Lindsay. He married Pearlee (Gamble) his high school sweetheart June 20, 1953. Tut continued to work as a mechanic until he was drafted into the Army in August of 1956. After completing two years of service including 18 months in South Korea, he returned home in June of 1958.

After returning home, he went into business for himself as a mechanic and also began a wrecker service. In the late 1970's he began an oilfield hotshot service and stopped being a mechanic. He continued the wrecker service out of his love of helping others until he had an unfortunate accident causing him to sell the business in January in 1998.

Tut is survived by his wife Pearlee Adams of the home, one son, Anthony Adams of Antioch, Oklahoma, one granddaughter, Brianna Adams of Antioch, Oklahoma, one brother, Raymond Adams, sisters; Jewel Underwood and Viola Hinckley of Lindsay, sister, Mick Miller of Yukon, Oklahoma, one sister and brother-in-law, Pat and husband Wayne Coatney of Lewisville, Texas, sisters-in-law, Pauline Lindsay of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Gladys and her Husband Robert Wilkins of Riverside, California. Tut also leaves behind nephews; Mitch Adams, Randy Underwood, Randy Lindsay, Todd Hinckley, Jerry Wilkins, and Rondal Wilkins, nieces; Cathy Carnett, Debbie Hamer, Vicky Delozier, Paula Lindsay, and Ruth Andrews, several great nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Tut was preceded in death by his parents Mamie John and J.B. Adams, his mother and father-in-law, J.T. and Iva Mae Gamble, one nephew Danny Lindsay, his sisters-in-law, Bessie Gamble and Ann Adams, and brothers-in-law Jerry Gamble and Bob Miller.

Funeral services for Mr. Adams are set for ten o'clock a.m. on Thursday, July 7th, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Bro. Bill Love officiating and Pastor Matthew Celoria assisting. The church is located at 410 W. Chickasaw Street. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
